And then...

I stopped in on an amazing antique store on the walk to the post office with my boss and found this pair of vintage Russian salt and pepper shakers that totally stole my heart. I've been on the hunt for an epic salt and pepper shaker combo for quite a bit now, so WIN!
I also stumbled upon these ceramic plaques in pink and silver that I couldn't leave without. Upon some research I found out they are Erma Duncan's Art Deco cameo plaques, made in the 70s but dated 1910, which I'm assuming is the era the female figures are derived from.
These babies are getting hung tomorrow!
I just found out in addition to paid vacation and sick days, I also have some paid "personal" days I have to use before the New Year, so it's looking like tomorrow is a 'play around the house' day!
Today was lovely.

Queen of the Jellies
Friday, December 13, 2013
I went with my good friend Brennan to help hang her jellyfish for tonight's Art Walk! I love Art Walk nights; downtown becomes so vibrant and alive. I'll be manning the photo booth tonight, but hopefully I'll get out a bit and take a few pictures of the festivities!
Suprise lunch date.

Curry Flurry
Thursday, September 05, 2013
I've been in such a curry kick lately. I've been sprinkling it on everything lately, and today I tried it on my egg salad. Oh. My. Goodness. AMAZING. However, it was incredibly unphotogenic, so the photo of the pretty curry packaging will have to suffice.
B-fast of cham-peens.

I hate judgmental questions.
"Coffee and peanuts?", she asked with a nose wrinkle.
Well, actually, they are cashews, and this happens to be the breakfast of champions.
Level up.

I cleaned a bunch today. Did mountainous piles of laundry. Basically, I accomplished lots, in Skyrim AND in real life today. Made my man sausage jambalaya, and it was delish. Sautéed myself some broccoli for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised.
Now I’m in desperate need of a shower, curled up on the couch watching 30 Rock and finishing my wine.
Life is pretty lovely.
NOM SESSION

I have been eating my weight in kale lately! I never in a million years would have guessed a veggie would be so delicious. Kale chips, you have stolen my heart.

It's nice to have someone working late with you. Shouts of "You can do it!" and "You're doing it!" echo back and forth between us as Gunner snores and Kitty glares.

Bookmaking begins!
Saturday, January 19, 2013
I started my first assignment for bookmaking last night! For homework, we are supposed to prepare our cover with hinge so that we can start with Japanese Stab Binding next class. This is a class I've been waiting for since being a wee freshman, and it is the absolute last class for a photo major to take. Needless to say, I'm raring to go!
got all my fancy new tools laid out |
bone folding champ |
kitty helps by hanging out on laundry |
corners clamped to set up over night |
There will most definitely be tons of bookmaking posts/pictures from this semester.

Daddio
Thursday, January 10, 2013
Winter break has been beyond lovely. I've been trying to visit with family as much as I can before I get back into obsessive student mode. Tonight I hung out with my dad.
He picked up tacos, and we just hung around drinking wine and cracking up over old memories. I take the beautiful drive across the bay every other week or so to have dinner and catch up with daddio, and I feel like a lucky duck to have such an epically bearded and big hearted father.
